10/04/2023 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic (2026) Tanner continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Arizonia SOPH Fall Classic. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.32 runner. In the MIF, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now solid through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 2 for 3 with a BB. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-74 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
