01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Murray is a talented/athletic prospect (6'2"/185) who is fun to watch. Blazing speed (60 yard = 6.58) a cannon for an arm (89 mph) and power at the plate (exit velo = 88 mph), Tarris impresses in all facets of the game. In the OF, he floats lightly on the balls of his feet covering a ton of ground from gap to gap. He works behind and through the ball aggressively, with strength/carry/backspin on his throws getting it out of his glove quickly. At the plate, this righty has fluid rhythm with active hands to load. Swing is quick on a short/direct path to and through the zone (collecting a 3B and 1B at the event). Once on base he keeps the pitcher and catcher focused on him as he gets great jumps and swipes bags with ease. Tarris is definitely a player to keep on the radar as he's only a 2023 grad. The future is very bright for this outstanding OF prospect.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Tarris is a coachable OF/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Winter Classic. In the field, Tarris shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and on-line to his target. Tarris can improve defensively by loosening his arm action. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and gets back into his load well. He shows good barrel accuracy and produces good contact to all fields. Tarris can improve as a hitter by getting into his load earlier. With five more years to develop, Tarris has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/18/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Highland Park (DFW), TX Tarris is an athletic, OF/3B. Defensively in the OF, he takes aggressive angles as he works behind the fly ball. He fires throws with long arm action and accurately to his target. At 3B, he shows active footwork and works low. He fields GB's with soft hands and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. With the stick, Tarris presents an athletic setup with fluid rhythm to load. He swings on a direct path fast through the zone and drives pitches with hard contact to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Lateral range
2. Play through
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Outfield
1. Lateral footwork
2. Stay low
3. Clean exchange to throw
Offense
1. More lower 1/2 drive
2. Contact points

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
