Tavin is a R/R catcher who graduates in 2027. Behind the dish, he sits in and tracks pitches into his mitt. Transfer is clean as he works in-line toward 2B on his throws down. Continued repetition on receiving the ball on pitches in and out will aid in his development as a catcher. Pop times will only continue to drop as he quickens his transfer and strengthens his arm. As a hitter, this righty stands in with a slightly closed setup and solid base. He takes a hack on a direct path and connects, as he has some pull-side pop. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path while engaging his lower 1/2 more will help to increase power at the plate. Herget is young and still has a ton of time to develop his skill-set on the diamond.
