09/27/2015 - College PREP - New Orleans, LA Taylor is a solid, athletic OF that will graduate in 2016 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 6.89 60 time. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average, displaying smooth / fluid actions. He utilizes his quick feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a loss toss program and work to get rid of the baseball quicker to improve arm grade. At the plate he continues to shine displaying solid hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a short / level swing path. He has strength in his swing with barrel accuracy with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Hands work to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and displaying gap to gap pop. Taylor has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
