11/08/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Columbia, SC Taylor is a lean, athletic C/SS who as a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.34 range with accuracy on his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. With 5 years to further develop, Taylor has potential with time and room to progress his game.

02/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Douglasville (Atlanta), GA Taylor is a young, 2-way player with a solid frame. Behind the plate, Taylor has efficient footwork, he sits in low and athletically, and he uses his body to block. He holds a low target, tracks well, and has a clean release with accuracy to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 3.3 seconds. At 2nd base, Taylor has fluid/active feet, he fields in a low/square position, and he fields consistently. He has clean hands, a solid backhand, and throws with consistency across the diamond. Offensively, Taylor has an open stance, good balance, and he swings aggressively. He swings on plane, makes square contact, and he uses some lower body. Overall skills can get better if Taylor can work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
