11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Taylor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he takes good first steps in attacking the baseball but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft / clean but needs to present more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry across the diamond but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

08/12/2018 - College PREP - Gillette, WY Taylor is an athletic and talented 2022 SS prospect. At SS, Taylor is on time with his pre-step, he presents a low/early glove, and works from the ground up. He anticipates the ball off the bat, shows range on both sides of the ball, and has good footwork on double plays. He has a clean exchange and makes strong throws across the diamond. At the plate, Taylor starts in a tall stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He creates separation, gets his front foot down on time, and stays balanced through contact. Taylor will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
