07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Taylor showed well offensively and defensively during his time at the UA Southwest. Hitting skills are solid, he loads well, has pop into the gaps, and makes hard contact. Taylor has fast bat speed, good strength, and he uses his lower body. At 3B, Taylor has active feet, he makes the plays on balls hit his way, and he has a strong arm. Taylor is a coachable, solid player with a bright future.

03/18/2018 - College PREP - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Taylor showed in the OF and at 3B for the first time at the event. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding. He displays proper footwork in creating proper angles in attacking and playing through balls with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft and he presents well, utilizing two hands through the process. Throws are accurate with on line carry to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine. Hands are quick (90 exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Taylor will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Taylor is a talented 3B/OF prospect who has high upside and graduates in 2019. As a right-handed hitter, Taylor has a square stance with a centered balance. He has fluid rhythm in his load and takes a square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Taylor has an on-plane swing path producing consistent contact. He shows most solid contact to the pull side. In the field, Taylor plays with effective pre-pitch actions and takes the correct angles to cover some ground. The ball sticks to his glove and he has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. His throws have consistent accuracy with good carry behind them. Overall, Taylor is a projectable prospect who has bright future on the diamond with a well-rounded skill set.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
