09/29/2013 - College PREP - Conway (Little Rock), AR Stitt is a young, lean RHP/3B that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects best at 3B for the next level. At 3B, feet are aggressive / athletic as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / clean / sure as he shows big play potential at 3B. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to increase foot quickness and be more consistent. At the plate, Stitt shows a crouched / squared setup with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He makes consistent contact and works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he learns to get his stride foot down to work on time. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to load more and use his lower half through the swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a plus feel for with hard / late sink. Off speed pitches show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Taylor has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve, possibly as a two-way guy.
