09/11/2011 - College PREP - Albuquerque, NM Taylor is a tall and lanky 2-sport athlete with good speed. His arm is nice and loose with excellent life and great accuracy as well. His natural and quick instincts allow his athleticism to work in the outfield. He has quick feet, soft hands and gets into an athletic fielding position. His good routes allow him enough time to set up and get behind fly balls well while working through the ball. At the plate, Taylor has a square and athletic set up with his weight centered well. Once he makes his move to the ball, Taylor shows quick bat speed with extension through the ball. He also stays inside the ball very well allowing him to hit the ball consistently the other way. In order to create some power for Taylor, he needs to stay tall throughout his swing and not lets his backside collapse, and create backspin. On the mound, Taylor is four-pitch guy. His tall frame and long limbs along with the ability to throw strikes consistently make him very projectable as a pitcher. Taylor's mechanics are well balanced and smooth. In order to develop his CB at a higher level, Taylor needs to finish a little more out in front and really finish his pitch. With his final season of high school baseball soon approaching Taylor can take advantage of the opportunity to fine-tune his skills, both in the field and on the mound.
