01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Taylor is a solid catcher in the 2020 class. Behind the plate, he is an advanced receiver with a solid target and glove presentation. He can maintain the strike zone with a firm wrist. He is quick to recover on dirt balls and his ability to control the baseball on body contact is college ready. He can turn it around quickly (87 velo) and shut down the running game. At the plate, he is aggressive and does not get cheated. He begins in an open athletic set up and gets squared to the plate with good timing. Displays bat speed (87 exit velo) and power to the pull side. Controlling his aggression will allow for a softer front side and allow his natural power to take over. Overall, Taylor is a talented prospect in the 2022 class.

03/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Windsor (Madison), WI Taylor is a pure catch and throw backstop who also will make an impact with the bat. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his arm (83 mph) with impressive pop times of 2.05. Offensively, he continues to shine with pro level hitting / power potential. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (88 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. Taylor has a big upside and with a skill set that will play at a high level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
