Official Scouting Report

  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

08/18/2019 - College PREP - Fayetteville (Atlanta), GA Terrell is an athletic and talented 2021 2-way prospect. In the OF, Terrell has an active prep step and is aggressive to the ball. He has good angles to the ball, plays through the ball, and shows some arm strength to the plate. At the plate, Terrell starts in a squared stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He gets to balance with his lower half, he creates backside drive, and he looks to make hard contact to all fields. On the bump, Terrell pitches from the stretch and has a loose arm action. He gets his fastball up to 84 mph and looks to pound down. Terrell will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Terrell is an athletic two-way OF/RHP who is improving his game each time he steps on the field. In the OF, he works behind the baseball and fields it high above his head. He showed the ability to cover the gaps very well getting a good first step. He aggressively got good jumps and went after everything he could get, before using a quick release into his throw. On the mound, Terrell throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and shows a fastball and a changeup. With his fastball he stays down in the zone as it tops out at 71mph. His changeup can be a good secondary pitch as he gets more feel for it. With the bat, Terrell starts from an athletic stance and fires his back hip toward the baseball to create bat speed. He made consistent contact while being on time with his swing. Being more aggressive at the plate will help him get more fastballs to hit early in the count. Terrell has the athleticism to be a fun player to watch.

04/30/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Atlanta, GA Terrell is an athletic OF/RHP. Defensively in the OF, he's efficient on his feet as he tracks down fly balls. He reads the ball well off the bat and tries to play through the ball towards his target. On the mound, this righty is a strike thrower delivering from a hi 3/4 arm slot. He throws with a loose arm action and finishes in line towards home plate. With the bat, Terrell displays a balanced setup. He strides short to each pitch as he takes aggressive hacks through the zone. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral range
2. Develop soft hands
3. Get behind the fly ball
Pitching
1. Develop off speed
2. Lower 1/2 drive off rubber
3. Finish strong
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Improve bat speed/hands
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
