04/26/2015 - National Tryout - Louisville, KY Thaddeus continues to work hard on his game. With the bat, he displays a balanced setup with a solid base. Swing in on-time as he connects and engages his lower 1/2, driving the ball up the middle of the field. At SS, he works around the GB and into a square fielding position. He is sure handed and gathers smoothly. Presenting his glove and fielding the ball more out in front will help to improve his abilities in the MIF. On the bump, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. FB now tops out at 69 mph while showing slight run. He gets good glove side lead and drives in-line toward the plate. Breaking ball is solid out pitch as he has 11/5 shape and he throws it for strikes. This 2019 grad is a hard worker who still has a ton of time to develop his skills.

07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Thad is a young kid who really plays the game with passion. As a defensive player he has good arm strength/accuracy, sure hands, active feet and an athletic fielding position. He can improve by playing through the ball more and shortening his arm action for a quicker release. On the mound his separation is on time and stays in-line but he rushes through balance point, front side flies open and needs to get his chest out front over the lead leg. At the plate Thad has an aggressive approach, good rhythm and he extends through the ball well. He really needs to allow the ball to travel into the proper hitting, keep his hands inside the ball, short swing path and use lower half more.

04/07/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Louisville, KY Thaddeus is a tall, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Thaddeus has soft hands, active feet, and he covers ground well. He makes plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency from a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Thaddeus has a free arm action, good direction toward home, and he keeps his eyes on target. Offensively, Thaddeus has an open stance, good balance, and average bat speed. He makes consistent contact through a level swing, and he swings in good rhythm. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quicken exchange
2. Play more through
3. Field out front
Pitching
1. Finish / Bend
2. Better separation
3. Long toss
Offense
1. Load
2. Shorten swing
3. More lower 1/2

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
