09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Thomas is a 1B/LHP prospect who showcased his skills during the All-Region Tournament. In the field, Thomas makes the routine plays and shows the ability to throw from multiple arm angles. At the plate, this RHH generates fast bat speed through the zone and gets good extension, driving the ball up the middle. On the mound, Thomas gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Thomas operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 63-64mph with 1-7 break. Overall, Thomas is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Thomas continues to sine on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. At the event, he was 2 for 7 with a 2B. Defensively, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Feet are active but needs to attack balls and play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 70-72 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Thomas.

03/21/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Tomball (Houston), TX Thomas is a 2024 LHP/1B. Tall frame athletic build with some strength in lower half with plenty of room and time to develop. Thomas continues to improve all facets of his game. Primary left-handed pitcher, throws from a 3/4 arm slot with simple/clean mechanics. Works down the mound and planes out. 3 pitch pitcher who continues to improve command. FB was up to 73mph with arm side run. Mixed in a developing curveball with 2/8 shape and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed. Command will improve as he refines his mechanics and improves his arm strength. Secondary 1B, active feet and ability to pick out hops. Loose arm and clean transfers allow Thomas to throw from multiple arm angles. Showed touch on his DP feeds and good bag awareness during his workout. Right-handed hitter, hits from a tall and open stance. Short/square stride with an on-plane barrel path. Showed quick hands to the ball with late bat whip. Showed ability to hit line drives into both gaps during his BP round. 4 years of continued growth and development should give him the opportunity to play at the next level.

12/28/2020 - Winter Pro Training Experience - TX (HS) Thomas is an athletic/projectable (6'0"/204) RHH 2-way player (LHP/1B) who shines in a variety of ways on the diamond. In the field he got in a relaxed ready position with his big frame, and got in a great fielding position that let us know Thomas was ready to play. Even more impressive, in 5 at-bats he would post 4 hits. This stems from his active load, quiet stance, and balanced approach to his at-bats. We cant forget his 3 Ks in 2 innings on the bump! Thomas would get this done with a 68 mph fastball and a developing curve and changeup. With a little lower half activation, Thomas will continue to grow even more confident in all of his pitches. Overall, Thomas is a talented prospect who has a ton of upside as he is only a freshman this year.

06/05/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Thomas is a LHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Thomas gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline toward the plate and extends through his release, finishing square to his target. Extending through his release more can help Thomas improve as a pitcher. In the field, Thomas gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
