01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Thomas played the game with great consistency on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he was aggressive to attack ground balls and presented the glove in front to secure the ball. His throws were consistent and balls stayed on-line to the target. At the plate, he was balanced in his approach and delivered the barrel on a level path through contact. He hit to all fields, allowing the ball to travel. In all - with a 6'1/185 lbs frame, Thomas projects best in one of the corner spots at the next level.

07/27/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Thomas is a solid prospect who is versatile and gets it done all over the field. He has a quick first step in the field and takes great routes and angles to balls hit his way. He has a strong arm back to the infield and throws accurately to his target. At the dish, he has serious power generated from his hips and strong legs. He has athletic actions and fluid rhythm with a quick bat through the zone. Thomas is a good player who has the ability to be a player at the next level.

04/17/2016 - College PREP - Kentfield (San Francisco), CA Thomas is a tall, athletic C/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, he utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in working in line through a clean transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show in the 2.27 range with accuracy and on line carry. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. In the OF, he reads balls well off the bat and takes proper first steps in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Feet are aggressive as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / on line carry on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. He loads well and displays quick hands (82 mph exit velocity) that work through a level swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus with power showing best to the pull side. Thomas has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
