01/11/2008 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2008 Lemke took the mound at this event on Sunday morning, after playing basketball games on both Friday and Saturday night. With that in mind, it is not likely that we saw his best outing. However, the 6-foot-8 inch right hander still touched 88 mph a few times and showed feel for a solid changeup. His breaking ball was slurvy from his three quarters arm angle, but it did have late break at times. He kept the ball down in the zone for the most part, and showed some feel to pitch. It would be interesting to see if his arm angle is normally so low. Ideally, such a long framed pitcher would have a higher slot to allow for not often seen downhill plane from a 6-foot-8 pitcher. It is likely that his legs were tired from basketball, causing his slot to fall. In any case, he is still quite interesting. Reports have him throwing in the low 90's when rested and ready to go.
