05/31/2021 - All-In Membership - Sacramento, CA Thomas is a lean OF/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays with momentum to his target. He utilizes his quick feet (6.92 60 time) in covering a lot of ground, displaying range. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on split finger with slight. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With 2 years to further develop, Thomas has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
