07/27/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (HS) Thor is a coachable 2023 1B/RHP prospect out of Ellicott City, MD who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Thor shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, working to make accurate throws to his target. Loosening his arm action can help Thor improve his arm accuracy. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance with his hands held low. He gets into a small load and works through a smooth swing. He gets good extension through the ball and uses the entire field well. Thor can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Thor gathers over the rubber and works with a quick arm. He stays inline toward the plate and drives his back leg through. Thor operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 59-61mph with 11-5 break. Extending through his release can help Thor improve his pitch command and velocity. Overall, Thor is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this 2023 grad.
