Official Scouting Report

  • SSPosition Projection

06/20/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (HS) Tim is an athletic SS in the 2023 class. Scouts feel he “is an athletic player with good baseball actions, plays hard and understands how to win”. In the field, he is balanced and plays relaxed. His feet are active (7.14 runner) and takes a great 1st step to the baseball to create outstanding angles. Fields under the baseball in a low athletic position with soft hands. His exchanges are clean and get the ball out to his targets quickly. Arm action is short and accurate with carry (80 velo). Working to throw the top of the baseball will create less tail and more downward spin on tough plays. At the plate, he can spray the baseball to all fields. He has strong hands and solid barrel feel. Collected three hits in game action. Working to stay in his legs will provide more explosion in his swing and more carry on the baseball. A strong dedication to the weight room will assist his game in numerous ways. Overall, Tim has great tools and has the ability to play at the next level.

02/20/2022 - All-In Membership - Walnut Creek, CA Tim is an athletic OF/SS prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Tim shows active footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He works through a level swing and hits against a strong front side, spraying the ball to all fields. Overall, Tim is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
