Official Scouting Report

  • LHPPosition Projection

09/22/2019 - College PREP - Lynnwood (Seattle), WA Timothy is a lean LHP prospect who will graduate in 2020. On the mound, Timothy gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Timothy shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 62-64mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits from 66-69mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Timothy improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes his stride on time. He shows smooth rhythm and leads well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent line drives. Timothy can improve as a hitter by working more of a load into his swing. Overall, Timothy is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
