Official Scouting Report

  • 6Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

07/12/2021 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Timothy is a tall 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Cape Cod Select Training & Competition. In the field, Timothy fields in a square position and has a clean exchange, working to make accurate throws to his target. Presenting his glove out in front to the ball can help Timothy field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and rotates his core through his swing well, producing solid line drives. Timothy can create more consistent contact by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Timothy gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and stays inline toward the plate. Timothy operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph with arm side run. Cutter sits from 63-67mph with good movement. Changeup sits from 63-65mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Driving his lower half more can help Timothy improve his pitch velocity. Overall, Timothy is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

03/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Marlborough (Boston), MA Timothy is an athletic 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.22 60 time. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He moves well laterally and covers ground side to side. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed range of 67-68 mph on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and short break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is outstanding as he throws lots of strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Timothy has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
