Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Timothy is a very coachable player who leaves it all on the field. He is a hard worker who has a willingness to improve. With the bat, this strong righty displays an athletic setup with balance. Hands are quick as he is short to the zone, barreling the ball up and driving it on a line. He has a solid 2-strike approach and battles when behind in the count. At 3B, Waller works around the GB from right to left, tracks it into his mitt and gathers well. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws to 1B. Presenting his glove and fielding the ball more out in front will help to avoid getting the in-between hop. On the mound, this RHP keeps his eyes on the target and works the ball to both sides of the plate. FB still sits in the upper 70's while showing slight cut. He works quickly and doesn't give hitters time to get settled. Driving downhill while striding more direct to the plate (not open) will allow him to use more of his lower 1/2 and get even more into his FB. Timothy is a solid 2-way player who should find success in this his senior year.

10/23/2016 - College PREP - O'Fallon, MO Timothy is a solidly built, athletic two-way prospect who is currently more advanced as a third baseman. He shows natural instincts at the hot corner with quick twitch movements and a strong arm across the diamond. At the dish, he has a square, athletic setup with good balance throughout his swing and an on time load and stride. He shows the ability to make square contact with feel for the barrel and has some pop to the pull side. He shows a repeatable delivery on the hill, getting down the mound quickly with good lower half drive towards the plate. He has a loose arm action that gives his pitches good life, including on his fastball, which he can run or cut to the hitter. Getting better arm extension on his finish will lead to better command and movement on his pitches. At third, his feet are quick with good agility, giving him extended range to both sides. He fields in an athletic position and has a quick release to feed double plays cleanly and throw across the field with online carry to his target. Timothy is a prospect we look forward to watching during his senior season.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
