07/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Richmond, VA Tommy continues to shine on the diamond with his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.15 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

09/26/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Tommy continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.37 runner. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.10. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

09/13/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Ruther Glen (Richmond), VA Tommy continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Pop time have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.31. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through a love approach. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Offensively, he continues to shine with well above average hitting / power potential. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (82 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel.

07/26/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Tommy is a coachable C/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Tommy presents a good target to the pitcher and receives with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground to throw, working to keep his throws accurate to the 2B bag. He creates good angles when blocking and tucks his chin well. Getting rid of his throws quicker can help Tommy improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a soft stride. He gets his hands activated well and takes a level swing, leading to solid contact to his pull side. Tommy can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. With three more years to develop, Tommy has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

05/05/2019 - College PREP - Henrico (Richmond), VA Tommy is a lean, athletic C/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works on line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.37 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He tracks balls well and sticks balls in the zone through an athletic setup. He utilizes his body well, centering balls well out front. In the OF, he displays clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Glove action is soft and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing through a line drive approach. With 3 years to further develop, Tommy has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
