Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3BPosition Projection

05/16/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Parker (Denver), CO Tommy showed very well during his last workout with The Factory. He showed a spike in nearly every category. At 3rd, Tommy has active feet, agile range, and good hands. He fields cleanly, plays through, and delivers the ball with carry from a short arm action across to his target. Offensively, hitting and power spiked to 60's. He swings aggressively with good balance and explosive bat speed. He makes hard/consistent contact, he has power to all fields, and he uses his lower body. Tommy is a talented player and he will get even better.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Tommy is an athletic and talented 2023 2-way prospect that is eager to learn and made several adjustments throughout the week at pirate city. At the hot corner, Tommy presents a low/early glove, creates angels to the ball and has a strong arm when throwing across the diamond. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Tommy starts in a tall stance, gets his front foot down on time, and create rhythm in his load. He has good pitch recognition, hits off a firm front side, and stays balanced through contact. On the bump, Tommy gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends thru his delivery. He throws both a 2 seam and 4 seam fastball that have the appropriate movement for each pitch. He also throws a 10-4 breaking ball that has tight spin through the strike zone. Tommy will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

02/03/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Parker (Denver), CO Tommy is a thin, athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Tommy has good balance, a quick arm action, and he keeps his eyes on target. He hides the ball well, has a controlled landing, and finishes in a complete position. In the OF, Tommy has efficient footwork to the ball, he fields in rhythm, and throws with a long arm action with consistency to his target. At the plate, Tommy has a square/athletic set-up, a short stride, and a proper load. He has good balance, works the middle of the field, and gets solid rotation through the ball. Tommy is a nice player and can further improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. More lower body
2. Extension
3. CH
Outfield
1. Angles
2. Fielding position
3. Play lower
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Contact points
3. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
