12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Tommy is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. In the field, Tommy has active feet and shows good range to his backhand side. He gets into a square position and fields with firm hands. He has a clean exchange to throw and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Tommy can improve defensively by presenting his hands more out front to field the ball. At the plate, Tommy sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride to the ball. He takes an on-plane swing to the ball and works to make good contact. Tommy can improve as a hitter by working more rhythm into his load and by using his lower half more. Only a 2022 grad, Tommy has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

09/25/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Tommy is a 2B who can make the plays. At 2B, he displays good glove side range. He has a clean exchange to throw as he makes accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this righty presents an athletic setup. He gets extension through contact as he drives pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
