05/29/2021 - 2021 BF National Florida Showcase Tommy put his full set of high-level tools (6.69 in the 60, 102 mph exit velocity, plus arm) on display at the Baseball Factory Florida Showcase. He has an ultra-projectable 6'3" frame that works well in all that he does on the field. His left-handed swing generates easy power with a HR off the machine in the simulated game and an exit velocity of 102 during an impressive BP. His stroke has rhythm and is explosive. As a defender, Tommy has natural instincts and the speed to play CF at higher levels, and he has a strong accurate arm that would allow him to profile in RF as well. Overall, this is a complete prospect with a high ceiling.

10/18/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Windsor (Madison), WI Tommy is an athletic OF who is a top prospect on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (93 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. Range is a plus as indicated by his 60 time of 6.69. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (90 mph exit velocity) as he stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Tommy has a tremendous upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Tommy is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Tommy shows fluid footwork and fields in an athletic position. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistent with good carry through his target. Tommy can improve defensively by increasing his lateral range. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and drives through with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to solid contact. Tommy can improve as a hitter by keeping his weight back. On the mound, Tommy repeats well as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm action and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. His fastball tops out at 79mph. Tommy can improve as a pitcher by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Tommy has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
