Behind the plate, he demonstrated a loose over the top arm action and he sits in well while receiving with soft hands. He has active footwork a clean exchange and should continue working on staying lower in line with target, which will result in lowering pop times. While blocking, Trae keeps ball in front of body to hold runners from advancing. At the plate from the right side, has a loose, open stance that generates quick hands to the baseball. Once he gets his hands back, Trae needs to continue utilizing his lower half giving him more balance on front foot to generate gap power. He has good rhythm into a level swing path. From the left side, Trae repeats his mechanics by staying short to the baseball hitting to the pull side. He gets good torque and bat whip and can to hit to all fields. At 3B, Trae displayed the ability to quickly move the ball from the glove into his hand for an accurate throw and should continue to work on finishing his throws. Trae is a versatile player who plays with confidence behind the plate yet also has the soft hands to play the hot corner.
