02/11/2017 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 14-18) Travis worked hard on his skills during his time at the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. Balanced is centered with rhythm in his hands. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and shows pop when he centers the ball. Even more power potential is in the tank as he works to engage and drive his lower 1/2 more. Working to stride more square (not closed) will allow him to unlock his hips, which will result in more pop off of the bat.

05/29/2016 - College PREP - Wappinger Falls, NY Travis continues to develop his skills on the diamond. With the bat, this righty has a balanced setup with rhythm to load. He swings on a direct path, squares the ball up and engages his lower 1/2 well - generating pop off of the barrel. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and hustles to track down fly-balls. He works through the ball and stays on top of his throws - as they are accurate into his target. Ardin is an athlete who will find success on the diamond.

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Travis is a hard working player who gives 100% every day. He is very coachable and has a willingness to learn. In the OF, he hustles to his right and left to track down fly-balls. He secures the ball and stays on top of his throws as he hits the cutoff accurately. With the bat, Travis has a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. He has simple/quiet actions waiting for his pitch. He has good zone awareness as he drew 3 walks at the event. He battles every at bat and puts the barrel on the ball consistently. More hand separation in his load will help to get more leverage resulting in more power. Ardin has the makeup on a team player who will do what it takes to succeed.

09/27/2015 - College PREP - Scranton, PA Travis is a lean 2017 grad projecting in the OF. Defensively, he flashes some speed while tracking the ball down with efficient footwork and mature approach. His arm shows life and carry to the target and when he works to play through the ball and attack GBs, he will see his defensive stock rise. At the plate, this RHH squares himself to the plate with a soft stride and rhythmic hands. He stays balanced throughout his swing and fires his hands through the zone quickly with a contact approach. As he continues to mature physically and build explosive actions, he will see more pop to all fields. Overall, Travis is a consistent fielder with an above average bat at the plate.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Travis is a young 2017 OF'er that displayed quick hands and sound tracking ability at the plate with a quiet head. He is very consistent to get to his contact point and showed good barrel accuracy. As he learns to use his lower 1/2 more he will take his skills to the next level. On the mound, Travis is an athletic right hander who displays a good downhill plane on his fastball. He has a loose arm action and is a good competitor out there. Getting to a more consistent balance point and staying more directional in his delivery will improve the effectiveness of Travis' pitches. In the field Travis, takes good angles on ground balls and displays efficient footwork when fielding the ball. In order to improve his defense, Travis need to work on getting better reads on the ball off the bat and take better routes on fly balls.

12/14/2014 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Travis is a R/R OF who has a solid all-around skill-set. With the bat, this RHH shows a balanced approach with patience. He swings on a level path, connects and hits the ball where it's pitched. He has the ability to drive the ball the other way. In the OF, he shows quick/active pre-pitch footwork as he takes solid routes/angles to the fly-ball. Hands are sure as he has a clean exchange to throw, working in-line to his target. Getting on a long toss program will aid in strengthening his arm and increase velocity. Only a 2017 grad - Travis has skills and will only continue to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
