Official Scouting Report

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Travis is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect that made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At SS, Travis has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws. He needs to have an active prep step, present a low/early glove, and work from the ground up. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Travis starts in an open stance, shows good action to the ball in his back hip, and stays balanced through contact. Staying directional with his stride and attacking the inside part of the ball will allow him to get extension through contact. On the bump, Travis gathers over the rubber, has a clean exchange, and has good direction to the plate. His fastball has slight cut, and he has a 10-4 breaking ball. Travis will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/28/2018 - Interactive Video Program - San Diego, CA Travis is a thin, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Travis is aggressive to the ball, his feet are active, and he keeps his eyes to the ball. He presents his glove well, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy and momentum toward his target. On the mound, Travis has good mechanics, lands in a square position, and is around the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Travis has a crouched/square set-up, direct hands to the ball, and a good bat path. Travis can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Widen base
2. Play more through
3. Pre-pitch actions
Pitching
1. Finish
2. Landing
3. Long toss
Offense
1. Rhythm/timing
2. Bat speed
3. Balance

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
