05/24/2014 - Little League® Experience Travis is a nice two way ballplayer with the ability to make great adjustments to improve. He is good around the bag at first base, shows good footwork and can range well to his backhand side. He needs to work on his first step and making sure he is ready for balls to be hit his way. On the mound, Travis excelled with his strong arm and great control. He works with great rhythm, stride properly in the right direction, and as a great balance point. Travis needs to work hard to finish his pitches and drive his hips toward his target. As a hitter, Travis has nice barrel action, creates very good leverage and attacks pitches in the zone. He can improve in the box if he focuses on keeping his hands inside the ball and extending out through contact toward the field and driving his hips through the ball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
