01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Travis is an exciting SS prospect whose tools allow him to make a big impact on the game. His athleticism and rhythm are evident at short with his ability to get to the ball in the hole and pick tough hops. His arm stroke is easy to make long, strong throws and quick, accurate feeds. Offensively, he profiles as a leadoff type hitter with great speed out of the box and a level path to spray line drives. He consistently delivers the barrel to the ball on a level path to hit the ball hard and stretch hits for extra bases. Travis has sky high potential in the game and should continue proving he has next level skills.

07/19/2017 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Travis is a talented SS/RHP prospect who has an athletic build and graduates in 2020. In the field, Travis plays with fluid, active footwork and moves with smooth actions. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low, athletic position with soft hands. He has a quick, clean exchange leading into a long, loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm action. Travis plays with good momentum through the baseball showing a quick release producing strong, accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, Travis has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a short, square stride as he partially uses his lower half through his swing. Travis has a short swing with loose hands and gets good extension. He is a contact type hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to each gap. On the mound, Travis has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has a clean arm action and stays square to home plate with the proper stride length. Travis pitches to contact and shows run on his fastball at 77-81 MPH. His curveball has tight break at 11-5 o'clock break. Overall, Travis plays the game athletically with an effective approach giving him high upside on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
