01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Trey is an explosive, 2020 grad that projects primarily as an OF'er. As a RHH, Trey showed some serious potential with his square, soft stance, loose hands, strong backside and lightning quick hands. The sky is the limit with his potential at the dish. His athletic actions don't stop at the plate. Defensively, he moves well with a tall, lean frame. His ability to track down balls and throw with consistency makes him a threat in the OF. Overall, Trey is an extremely talented player and will be one to watch in a few years.

08/15/2014 - Interactive Video Program - South Williamsport, PA Trey is a gifted two-way player, 1B/RHP that has well above average hit and power ability. Offensively, he gets to a good hitting position consistently on-time and generates excellent bat speed. He is direct with the barrel and level with the path to hit line-drives. He has good natural leverage and can leave the park now with ease. Defensively, he has good feet that get him to a good fielding position. He is sure with the glove to field and has a good arm to throw. On the mound, he gathers well in his balance point and creates downhill plane on his pitches. He throws three pitches for strikes and is deceptive with his repeatable delivery. All in all - Trey Hondras is a name that should become well known in coming years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
