12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1
Trent is a coachable player who worked very hard during his time at Pirate City. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with the baseball coming off well when centered. At 1B, he uses his strong, athletic frame well in presenting a solid target. He has proper footwork around the bag adjusting well to inaccurate throws. On the mound, he gets good backside arm action with glove side lead. Fastball showed good tail and sinking action giving hitters a tough time trying to square it up. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape (60-64 mph). He maintains arm speed on his changeup as it has sinking action which will get GB outs. He attacks hitters and works ahead in the count. Trent has a versatile skill-set with upside on the diamond.
12/06/2015 - College PREP - Pensacola, FL
Trent is a 6'3/205 lbs RHP/1B that will graduate in 2017. On the hill, he threw his FB with tail from 80-81, spun an 11/5 CB from 67-68, and showed a sinking CH from 70-71. He used his bottom half well and had good overall mound presence. He was very deceptive as he hid the ball well and was very loose with his long arm action to deliver. Offensively, he had a good setup, with strength in his hands and a middle approach. He hit to all fields with some pop and with continued reps will have a chance to hit in the middle of the lineup. At 1B, he worked efficiently to make plays with good body control and was sure with the glove. He had decent feel for backhand mechanics and threw with carry to his targets. Overall - Trent is a very project/lengthy ball player that has a bright future ahead of him.
09/27/2015 - College PREP - New Orleans, LA
Trent is a tall, solid RHP/1B that will graduate in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is repeatable as he uses his lower half well and allows his arm action to work long and well to the plate through a high 3/4 arm slot. Arm strength is solid as indicated by his top velocity of 82 mph. Fastball shows a range of 80-82 mph with arm side run. Changeup is his best off speed pitch as he maintains arm speed, showing a feel for with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver, displaying clean hands. Feet are aggressive as he moves well side to side. At the plate, he shows a closed / balanced setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. With 2 years to further develop, Trent has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to develop.
