Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3BPosition Projection

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Trent is a 2018 3B prospect from Arcadia Valley High Missouri. At the hot corner, Trent plays through the backhand and makes good feeds on double plays. Continuing to present a low/early glove, and working from the ground up will allow him to get into the proper fielding position. Anticipating what to do before the ball is hit and having active pre pitch movement will allow him to cover more ground. At the plate, Trent has an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He shows pull side pop and tracks the ball. Continuing to get the front foot down on time and attacking the inside part of the ball will allow him to get extension through contact. Trent needs to continue to be a student of the game and understanding of importance of preparation. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/18/2017 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Trent is an athletic 3B who will graduate in 2018. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.34. At 3B, he displays clean / athletic actions. Feet are active but needs to attack balls and play through balls with his body. Hands are clean and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced / squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. Trent has abilities with a lot of room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
