01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS)
Trent is a lean (6’0”/145) C/OF prospect in the 2023 class that bring a good energy to the ballpark. Behind the plate, he sits in well and tracks pitches into his mitt. He uses good blocking technique to keep the ball in front, centering it off of his chest. Throws to the bag were accurate from a short arm action out of a high 3/4 arm slot - pop times now at 2.30. At the plate, this righty starts in a balanced/square setup. He makes solid contact with the ball hitting it back up the middle of the field. More use of his lower half will increase power production at the plate. This 2023 grad has skills with still a lot of time to progress to get to where he wants to be.
09/06/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Stockton (Sacramento), CA
Trent continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.31 60 time. At the plate is where he has improved the most through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.63. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and reads balls well off the bat. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness.
01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14)
Trent is a coachable C/2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training in Arizona. Behind the plate, Trent tracks the ball into his glove and works to make accurate throws to 2B. Sitting in a more athletic primary stance can help Trent improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and takes a short stride. He takes a short swing and makes solid contact. Trent can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Trent has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
