Official Scouting Report

  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

08/08/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Trenton is a strong, athletic two-way prospect with tools all over the field (87 mph exit velocity, 84 mph arm strength, 9'1 broad jump, 7.1 60 time). He shows off good wheels, taking extra bases on hits and running down balls in the gaps. He is aggressive defensively and shows good angels in making plays. On the mound, this prospect works with a quick tempo, keeping hitters off balance with a 3 pitch mix including a fastball with run, a sharp, late breaking curve and a changeup with sink. His delivery is repeatable with clean mechanics and a loose, clean arm stroke that should allow him to rack up innings. At the dish, this prospect has smooth rhythm, keeping his hips and hands connected to show gap to gap ability. He loads to a power position and has a level path, keeping his head down to make solid contact. Using his lower half to generate power will unlock even more pop in his swing and make him a more dangerous hitter. Trenton is a solid player and athlete, and we look forward to watching him progress.

06/05/2016 - College PREP - Kansas City, KS Trenton is an athletic R/R 2-way player as an OF/RHP. With the bat, this RH swinger stands in well with centered balance and fluid rhythm to load. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and pulls it with pop. He connects with strength as he ball jumps off of his barrel when centered. In the OF, he takes a quick first step with solid routes/angles to track down fly-balls. He plays through the ball well and gains ground toward his target. On the mound, Trenton has an effective 3-pitch mix coming from an over the top arm slot. He works to a tall balance point, has smooth separation and drives downhill toward the plate. FB cracks the mitt at 83 mph getting on hitters and coming out of his hand a little deceptive. Breaking ball has 12/6 shape with solid action. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed while showing slight sinking action and will get GB outs. Trenton is a solid all-around athlete who will make an impact in a variety of ways on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
