Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/CPosition Projection

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Trenton is a 2025 C/RHP out of Groves, TX who continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable, allowing his arm action to work clean to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball showed a range of 76-79 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.22 range with carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/09/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pearland, TX Trenton is a C/RHP prospect in the class of 2025. Behind the plate, he shows a good ability to gain ground on his throw downs. Shows good footwork both when blocking and when throwing down. Shows good lateral movements and protects the 5 hole well when blocking. At the plate, he shows good balance in his swing and the ability to get extension through the baseball. Shows off a middle approach and a quiet head. On the mound, he does a great job of keeping his eyes on the target and having a consistent delivery. Throws all pitches from a high arm slot and with the same arm speed. Best pitch is his fastball with good sinking action. Trenton is a bright young prospect that has another 3 years of high school as he works to continue to develop his game.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Trenton is a solid overall prospect out of Groves, TX in the 2025 class. The strong built catcher is very athletic and already features a consistent pop time in the 2.2 range. Defensively, Trenton has a lot of good qualities behind the plate to compliment a very strong arm. His receiving skills are beyond his years with the ability to work firmly around the ball with a soft and quiet glove. His transfers on throw to second base are really good because of his quick feet and ability to gain ground. At the plate Trenton shows the ability to use all fields and displayed an 80 mph exit velocity. With growth and development there is potential in his swing to hit for power as he learns to stay on the ball more consistently and utilize his lower half. As a freshman, Trenton is in a very good spot and he is a 15 year old that should develop into a very solid college prospect.

06/14/2021 - All-In Membership - Houston, TX Trenton is a C/RHP/2B who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame with some strength present and room to add muscle. At C, he has an easy sit and active feet. Presents a low target for pitchers, with a loud mitt, and works thumb under keeping balls in strike zone. Creates good blocking angles to his arm side. Short arm action into a high 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base. Arm velocity was 80mph and a best pop time of 2.19 seconds. On the mound, Trenton works fast with a good mound presence. Keeps his eyes level throughout his delivery. Throws a FB that topped out at 75mph, a 10/4 breaking ball, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed. CH was his best pitch during his bullpen session. At 2B, he's able to pick out hops and can throw from multiple arm slots. A right-handed hitter, he hits from a tall and open stance. Showed good plate discipline by only swinging at strikes. Tracks pitches well while keeping his hands inside the baseball. Sprayed balls to all fields during his round of BP with a bat exit velocity of 78mph. With continued growth and development, we see Trenton having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
