11/15/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Trenton continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 58-60 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He slows his body and arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

06/20/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Charleston, WV Trenton is a young, athletic, 2-way player who plays OF and RHP. Defensively, Trenton has playable hands and feet, and he tracks the ball well off the bat. He has good direction, makes plays consistently, and throws with some accuracy to his cut off man. On the mound, Trenton has loose arm action, he keeps his eyes on target, and he competes in the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Trenton has an open stance, he tracks the ball well, and he swings in good rhythm. He loads properly, swings on plane, and he can spray the ball to all fields. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
