07/29/2014 - Under Armour Southwest Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Trenton showed as a catcher and on the mound for the first time at the event. Currently, he projects best behind the plate for next level where he has improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.05. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.12. At the plate, he shows a short / compact swing and flashes bat speed through contact. He makes solid contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 2B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-81 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is tough mentally and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/27/2013 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Sann is a high energy player that is hard working, is very coachable, and loves to play the game. He continues to show as a C/RHP and he has improved his abilities. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show in the 2.15 range with accuracy / carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he continues to build more arm strength. Receiving / blocking skills are quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate shows an athletic setup and tracks the ball well. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 81 mph. Fastball showed a range of 76-81 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sharp breaking action. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/04/2013 - College PREP - Council Bluffs (Omaha, NE), IA Trenton is a tall, lean, and athletic RHP/C that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects best behind the plate for the next level. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.19 60 time. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show in the 2.15-2.32 range with accuracy on his throw. Throws show accuracy, and on line carry into his target as he displays well above average arm strength. Receiving / blocking skills are quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed range of 76-79 mph with arm side run on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with slight break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Command / control are a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. With 2 years to further develop, Trenton has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
