07/29/2014 - Under Armour Southwest Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Trenton showed as a catcher and on the mound for the first time at the event. Currently, he projects best behind the plate for next level where he has improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.05. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.12. At the plate, he shows a short / compact swing and flashes bat speed through contact. He makes solid contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 2B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-81 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is tough mentally and works hard to be the best player he can be.
