08/04/2013 - College PREP - Glendora, CA Trenton is a tall/athletic/solid 2014 graduate who plays third base and catcher. As an infielder, he is getting around and playing through the better and his arm strength/action is good (81 mph). Behind the plate, Trenton receives the ball very well, has firm/sure hands and he is a good blocker. His pop time is very good at 2.0 but it will improve if Trenton can quicken his feet/exchange. At the plate, he has a strong upper half, tracks the ball well and he has good bat speed. He needs to use his lower half more and extend through/finish swing. Trenton possesses all the physical abilities needed to succeed at the next level. As long as he continues to work and progress Trenton should be a very good player in the future.

07/29/2013 - Under Armour Southwest Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Stowe showed at 3B plus on the mound for the first time and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Currently, he projects best at 3B for the next level. Defensive grades are now well above average as he uses his athletic feet well in attacking ground balls and plays through well, while presenting his soft / sure hands well out front. He works to get rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy across the diamond but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered as he has improved his power numbers, now showing as outstanding. He is strong and displays strength in his swing. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus and his is a hard worker and is very coachable.

03/24/2013 - College PREP - Bay Area, CA Trenton is a solid, athletic 3B that will graduate in 2014. Feet are active as he works around balls, to squaring up, displaying clean hands. He needs to play through balls more, present hands more out front, and improve foot quickness to continue to improve, defensive grade. Throws are accurate, but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate is where Stowe shows best through an athletic setup and smooth approach. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered as he displays solid extension through the ball. Power numbers are best to the pull side as he needs to work on keeping hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Trenton has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches, especially with his abilities at the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
