07/05/2018 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Trevin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground and makes the routine plays. He shows good game awareness and does a nice job of backing up bases. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 7 with a 2B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 67-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

04/29/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Fairfield (Sacramento), CA Trevin is a young, lean, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Trevin keeps his eyes on target, he has a clean arm action, and a controlled landing toward home. He keeps the ball down in the zone, his off speed show well, and he finishes in a complete position. In the OF, Trevin has efficient footwork, he covers ground well, and takes proper routes. He makes plays, has a clean exchange, and throws with a loose arm to his target. Offensively, Trevin has a tall set-up, a good load, and a controlled stride toward the pitcher. He puts the bat on the ball and can spray to all fields. Trevin can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Separation
2. Loosen AA
3. Extension/finish
Outfield
1. Quicken feet
2. Release

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
