Official Scouting Report

  • RHPPosition Projection

06/15/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Trevor had a quality showing in Omaha. He has continued to improve each time that we see him. At this event he showed the best velocity that we have seen - touching 80 mph. He continues to be a strike-thrower using a balanced, in-line delivery that he repeats well. A more consistent breaking ball and the addition of a change will make Trevor extremely effective. He already shows good composure on the mound and competes well.

04/21/2013 - National Tryout - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Trevor continues to project best on the mound where he showed a repeatable delivery with smooth separation staying in line with his target. His landing is open but he does reach a complete finish. Trevor does a good job working in the zone but will need to continue to develop more arm strength as well as generating more drive in his legs. Defensively at 2B, Trevor shows good glove actions with the ability to field square and on the balls of his feet. Grades will improve as he develops a quicker footwork and exchange reaching a stronger fielding position. Offensively, Trevor shows consistent control with a short load getting his hands back and foot down. He will need to work on maintaining an athletic position throughout his swing using more lower body.

03/24/2013 - College PREP - Bay Area, CA Trevor is a lanky RHP that will graduate in 2013. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate through an over the top arm slot. Fastball shows a range of 73-76 mph on a slight downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with slight, early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Cutter is his best off speed pitch, showing a plus feel for with solid action. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
