11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Trevor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 1B, defensive abilities has improved as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but needs to play through more with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 5. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 66-70 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with early break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/16/2018 - College PREP - Boise, ID Trevor is a scrappy LHP/1B prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Trevor gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Trevor shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 54-58mph with 1-7 break. Changeup ranges from 54-59mph. Trevor can improve as a pitcher by slowing his tempo down. In the field, Trevor shows active footwork and flashes good range to his glove side. He gets into a low position and fields the ball with firm hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. Trevor can improve defensively by making more accurate throws. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He leads well with his lower half and drives the ball to the opposite field. Trevor can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With three more years to develop, Trevor has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
