Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • LHP/1BPosition Projection

07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Trevor is a coachable LHP/1B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Trevor makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Trevor improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and works to barrel up the baseball, driving to his pull side. Trevor can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Trevor gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Trevor shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 60-65mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits from 66-67mph with tailing action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Trevor can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. Overall, Trevor is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

06/16/2019 - College PREP - Glendale (Milwaukee), WI Trevor is a solid LHP that will graduate in 2020. On the mound Trevor shows a 3-pitch mix throwing a FB, CB, and a CH. The FB is 71-73 MPH with some arm side run. The CB is 62-63 with gradual break. The Ch is 65-67 with FB arm speed and shows a high command for it. Trevor works out of a HI 3/4 arm slot on the bump. Working through his mechanics he separates on time with a clean arm action and creates good direction to home plate. He can improve his pitching by not letting his front side fly open. At the plate Trevor sets up in a square stance and shows fluid rhythm and timing. He shows a simple swing and works to get on plane with the pitch. Trevor can continue to improve with long toss and a strength program. We look forward to seeing Trevor's continued progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
