Official Scouting Report

06/17/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Trevor has a promising future on the diamond. Pop times showed in the 2.10 range. Receiving / blocking skills are well above average as he shows off his athletic abilities. At the plate, he continues to shine. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped (87 mph exit velocity) through the zone as he connects with power to all fields. A talented prospect - he will make things happen both behind the dish as well as with the bat. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 81 mph. Fastball showed a range of 78-81 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displaying 10/4 shape with late break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

04/09/2017 - College PREP - Bartlett (Memphis), TN Trevor is a hardworking C/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set and graduates in 2018. Offensively, Trevor has an open stance with an aggressive approach. He has a short stride and direct swing path to the baseball. Trevor maintains an effective bat angle through the zone to produce solid contact. He is a contact type hitter who puts the ball in play. Behind the plate, Trevor has an effective setup and plays with active footwork. He has good body control and receives the ball with a firm glove. Trevor has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays with momentum through his release and his throws are accurate with good carry to 2B. On the mound, Trevor has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 slot with a clean arm action. He extends through his releases and stays square to home plate. Trevor does a nice job engaging his core rotating towards his target. His fastball is sneaky fast with good arm side run. He also features a deceptive changeup and medium breaking curveball. Overall, Trevor has a well-rounded skill set and good potential to develop his game even further.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
