07/12/2013 - Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One South Wood continues to show solid / steady play in his baseball abilities in the OF. He utilizes his outstanding foot speed in taking proper routes / angles and gets behind balls more, playing through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he has improved his power grade, now showing well above average. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through the ball at contact, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is exceptional with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered.

01/18/2013 - 2013 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Trevor is a 2B/OF who will graduate in 2014. He is quick, posting a 6.79 60 yard dash time which will serve him well at both positions. He throws a consistent ball that has carry to it. His arm action is loose and he finishes well. He should be more aggressive and attack the ball. Offensively, he makes consistent, hard contact and has a level swing. He has good timing and pulls the ball well. Trevor is patient at the plate and doesn't chase much. He should work on his load and hand positioning throughout his swing to shorten his path. He should also track the pitches middle away a little deeper to allow more power on pitches away.

08/01/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Trevor is a 2B/OF that will graduate in 2014. His foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 6.88 60 time. At 2B, his feet are active / athletic as he attacks ground balls and plays through well with his body. His hands are soft / clean / sure as he makes all the plays. In the OF, he utilizes his foot speed well in displaying range as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup with balance. His hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work on keeping his hands inside the ball and staying through the ball with the barrel more. Power numbers will increase as he learns to load more and transfer his weight properly through his lower half. Mental makeup is a plus as he plays hard with a lot of energy and is a gamer on the field. With 2 years to further develop, Trevor has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the college coaches as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
