09/25/2019 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Trey continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, he displays smooth/clean actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate with zip (90 mph velocity) to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 82 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Slider is harder with tight spin and short break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Trey is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect. In the OF, Trey starts in an athletic position and reads the ball off the bat well. He works behind fly balls, has a clean exchange, and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Trey starts in a square stance, keeps his hands low, and has rhythm in his lower half. He gets the barrel flat to the ball, stays balanced through contact, and hits the ball to all fields. On the Bump, Trey throws three pitches and shows confidence in all of them. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and works north to south in his delivery. His fastball has run, his curveball has a 10-4 break, and he has good feel for the changeup. Trey has a high ceiling on the mound and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/11/2018 - College PREP - East Hampton (Hartford), CT Trey is a young, solid, 2-way player with advanced skills. In the OF, Trey has quick/fluid feet, soft/presentable hands, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He tracks the ball well, has athletic actions, and throws with a short/loose arm action with carry to his target. A cleaner release and continuing to add arm strength will help OF skills improve. On the mound, Trey stands over the rubber well balanced, he has a loose/clean arm circle, and he repeats his delivery well. He keeps his eyes on target, lands in a square direction, and is around the zone with his pitches. More extension and command will help mound effectiveness improve. At the plate, Trey has a square/athletic set-up, he loads well, and stands in well balanced. He has fast bat speed, a line drive approach, and he uses his lower body. Hitting numbers can improve with added strength and a better finish.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
