Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

10/04/2017 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Trey is a tall, strong built 1B/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set. Offensively, Trey stands in tall with a solid base. Hands are quick as he whips the barrel through the zone with the ball exploding off of his barrel at contact. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 showing solid pull-side pop. Once on base, he does a great job of reading pitchers and getting good jumps on pitches in the dirt. At 1B, he is a big target who can pick about anything thrown his way. He has quick footwork with smooth actions moving well to GB's hit to his right and left. On the mound, Trey has an easy delivery with simple, repeatable actions. He has balanced, on-time mechanics throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. Trey has a clean arm action as he extends through his release. He stays square to home plate with a controlled landing. Trey competes and throws strikes, challenging hitters to swing the bat. Overall, Trey is a talented (2020) prospect who has the skill-set to make an impact in a variety of ways on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
