09/25/2016 - College PREP - Scranton, PA Trey has really impressed with the way he keeps improving his game and adding different aspects to make himself well rounded as a player. His pure speed jumps off the page with a 6.93 second 60-yard dash time that also shows up in game situations as a base stealer and range in the field. He has efficient feet to get to ground balls hit his way and presents his hands out front to field and keep the ball in front. He plays through the ball well to gain momentum to his target and make accurate throws and DP turns. On the mound, this right hander has a quick arm and stays tall throughout his delivery to work downhill to hitters. He has a good fastball with run and sink that sits in the low 80's that he works off of with good command. He has a compact delivery that gives him good control and helps him work ahead of hitters to dictate at bats and pace. At the plate, he has good balance with rhythm to get his foot down and launch on time. He has a direct path to the baseball with fast bat speed that allows him to square the ball up and spray line drives all over the field. Working on staying back and not drifting will make him a complete and dangerous hitter. Trey is an exciting prospect who we have high hopes for moving forward.

02/15/2016 - College PREP - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Trey is a 6'1/155 lbs sophomore RHP. On the mound, he threw a FB for strikes from 76-78, working down in the zone. His best off-speed pitch proved to be his CH with him maintaining his fastball arm-speed and living in the zone from 67-70. The third pitch in his arsenal was a CB, which he showed fresh feel for from 63-66. He threw a lot of strikes, in general, and repeated his delivery to finish under control with his chest over his front knee. A long toss program, and more practice with his grip for his CB, will allow him to increase velocity and keep hitters more off-balance with a third reliable option. In the box, he delivered the barrel on a level & direct path to contact and sprayed the ball to all fields. He tracked the ball deep in the zone and worked the barrel well with his upper half. Adding more lower half coordination with his hands will enable greater bat speed and barrel accuracy. In all - Trey should have a strong sophomore year on the hill.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
