06/06/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas One look at Trey and you have a pretty good idea that power is a major part of his game. He has a thick, strong body at 6'0", 200 pounds and he takes an aggressive swing at the plate with serious bat speed. He uses a "running start" load and whistles the bat through the hitting zone. The ball jumps - as it did in batting practice and in his first live at bat when he smoked a ball to the RF wall on a line. His swing is geared to hard line drives (98 mph exit velocity) to all parts of the field. Defensively, he shows the versatility to be able to play on the corners in the IF and OF. His long term fit may be in LF where he tracks balls well and has the ability to close. Overall, this is a potential impact bat at higher levels.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Trey continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he continues to shine. He utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth/clean actions with hands/feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip (91 mph velocity) on his throws. Trey has big upside and will get looks from top collegiate coaches/pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

05/20/2018 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Trey is a solid, strong OF who has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.83. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying tremendous hitting/power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick/explosive (92 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He takes a hack and has strength in his swing. He shows a feel for the barrel and drives balls to all fields. In the OF, he displays solid defensive abilities and utilizes his quick feet well in his lateral movement as he displays range. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with zip and on line carry to his target. With 3 years to further develop, Trey has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from college coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
