Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Trey continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. He has some strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 8. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-81 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/03/2018 - College PREP - Jackson, MS Trey is a tall and talented 2019 RHP prospect with a good frame. On the bump, Trey gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends through his release point. He works north to south and throws strikes. He has a heavy fastball and has command of his slider. At the plate, Trey starts in an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He attacks the inside part of the ball and shows pull side pop. Trey will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
